May God Use You! (John 4:42)

Once, Jesus came to a town in Samaria called Sychar. Tired from his journey, he sat down to rest by the well that Jacob had built. Then a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus asked her for a drink.

John 4:7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”

At that time, Jews did not usually talk to Samaritans, because they considered them heretics, as they were descendants of Jews mixed with other peoples.

But Jesus didn't care about that and revealed himself to her as the Messiah.

John 4:26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”

Despite the prejudices that the woman also carried, she received Jesus' words and began to tell her people that she had found the probable Messiah.

John 4:28-29 So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?”

Even though we didn't deserve it, one day we also had the privilege of receiving the revelation of Jesus — and we believed in it.

Because of this, we must live the gospel and be, like that Samaritan woman, LIVING WITNESSES OF JESUS, announcing his great works.

The men who heard that woman's testimony went to meet Jesus and were amazed by his words.

John 4:30 They went out of the town and were coming to him.

The Jewish people rejected Jesus, but those who were not “Jews” received him and clearly understood his message.

John 1:11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

And they begged him to stay with them — and they believed in his words.

John 4:40-41 So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. And many more believed because of his word.

Maybe you feel unable to talk about Jesus or preach the gospel, but believe this: you can indeed testify about the great things Jesus has done in your life, helping people who are suffering, lost, and often without hope.

A small message can transform a life.

Simple messages like these:

• Jesus is the way out of your problems!
• Jesus can help you, just like He helped me!
• Jesus can change your story!

Through you, other people can have the privilege of saying the same thing those men said:

John 4:42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Be brave. God can use you to bless lives. Don't be intimidated; simply SPEAK ABOUT WHAT JESUS MEANS TO YOU AND EVERYTHING HE CAN DO.

God wants to use you!
