The Impossible (Matthew 19:26)
In the Bible, we find countless situations where God did the impossible to deliver or bless His people.
Some examples are:
• The parting of the Red Sea. Exodus 14.
• Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the blazing furnace. Daniel 3.
• Daniel in the lions' den. Daniel 6.
• Peter in prison. Acts 12.
When God does the impossible, we call this action a MIRACLE.
Man has a hard time believing in miracles because human nature makes us think rationally, putting faith aside to rely on things or situations we understand and that "follow the laws of nature".
Genesis 18:13 The LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’”
Logical reasoning is an extremely comfortable state for a Christian, because nothing is easier than believing and practicing things that will bring a certain result.
Example: If we plant corn seeds, we will harvest corn and not rice.
Logical reasoning leads to the thought that certain situations in life are impossible to happen, and that is why many don't believe in miracles, or believe that miracles might occasionally happen to others and not to themselves.
Throughout our lives, countless times, WE WILL NEED MIRACLES AND GOD KNOWS THIS VERY WELL, so much so that Jesus said:
John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
John 4:48 So Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.”
And for miracles to happen, you will need to:
• HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD: John 17:21-23 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.
• HAVE A LIFE OF PRAYER: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing,
• OBEY GOD: Deuteronomy 28:1-2 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.
• MAKE PERSONAL SACRIFICES: Matthew 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
• HAVE A LIFE SURRENDERED TO GOD: Deuteronomy 30:20 loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days...
• SANCTIFY YOURSELF: Hebrews 12:14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
MANY WANT POSITIVE ANSWERS FROM GOD TO THEIR PRAYERS, BUT REFUSE TO GIVE POSITIVE ANSWERS TO GOD'S COMMANDS (WHICH IS HIS WORD).
We know that the impossible does not exist for God, so never let yourself be dominated by anxiety, excessive worry, or despair, because God is faithful to fulfill His Word in you.
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 6:31-32 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
If you are faithful, have faith, and pray, God will always answer your prayers, with the right and timely answer, ALWAYS...
Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
