The Glory of Man (Jeremiah 9:23-24)
God, especially in the books of Jeremiah and Hosea, but not only there, made it clear about MAN'S NEED TO KNOW HIM and what consequences the lack of knowledge of God's Word and heart would bring.
Jeremiah 9:
23 — Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches,
24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.”
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...
Consequently, the lack of knowledge of God has produced people with a mediocre spiritual life who are carried away by every "wind of deception", believing in lies and fables, because they don't know the truth.
2 Timothy 4:4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
Therefore, knowing the Word of God must be A FOUNDATION FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN.
HAVE YOU BEEN MAKING AN EFFORT TO KNOW THE WORD OF GOD AND CONSEQUENTLY GOD HIMSELF?
If you haven't been making an effort to know God, then let yourself be motivated by his WORD OF EXHORTATION:
Hosea 6:3 Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.
So that his STATEMENT OF FACT doesn't fall upon you:
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...
Reading this verse, we realize that we will be easy targets for darkness if we don't discern what the true will of God is and what the devil's deceitful lie is.
Because, as you know, the strategy used by satan today is the same one he used to deceive Adam and Eve, and it's the same one he used to try to tempt Jesus in the desert, and his strategy is: TRYING TO CORRUPT THE WORD OF GOD.
Never forget: your glory in this world is not in the possessions you own, or your strength, or your wisdom, but rather, knowing God and dwelling in the shelter of the Most High and resting in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 Corinthians 10:17 “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
