Fulfill Your Vow! (Ecclesiastes 5:4)
At the beginning of every year, for most people, a new motivation is born, along with an almost subconscious hope for better days and achievements that will come true in the year that is starting.
For many, there's a feeling that as the year ends, a cycle in life also closes, and with the new year, a new cycle begins.
Changes in attitudes, words, ways of acting, and ways of working are planned, always thinking about achieving what hasn't been achieved yet or reaching new things.
These feelings are very interesting and would be highly positive if they DIDN'T FADE AWAY in the first few days of the year.
Usually, at this time of year, we see people:
• Committing TO GOD to live a life more dedicated to Him.
• Committing TO GOD to live a life faithful to Him.
• Committing TO GOD to stop sinning.
• Committing TO GOD to stop doing things that sadden Him.
• Committing TO GOD to be faithful tithers.
• Committing TO GOD to pray more.
• Committing TO GOD to read the Bible more.
• Committing TO GOD to be at church more often.
And many other promises that will also be quickly forgotten and won't be kept in the coming year, not to mention never kept at all.
God always reveals, through His Spirit, where or what we need to change, and every time we don't listen to Him, we are being unfaithful and despising His will for our lives, and consequently, despising God Himself.
Whoever doesn't listen to God's voice ends up being on their own in this world, at the mercy of the one who came only to steal, kill, and destroy.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
But whoever listens to the voice of the Lord will be blessed.
Jeremiah 17:8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.
I believe that your plans regarding God are inspired by the Holy Spirit; therefore, don't let them be forgotten. Instead, fight to achieve and fulfill them, because God's will for you should be treated LIKE AN ORDER, and God's orders must be followed, not neglected.
Fulfill your vows to God and obey Him, because these actions will be the motivators and generators of your blessings in the coming year.
NEVER FORGET:
Deuteronomy 23:21 If you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the LORD your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin.
Ecclesiastes 5:4 When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.
Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.
